A Sea of Yellow

Pollen
We finally took the time to take our car to the car wash to get the coat of salt and slushy Michigan snow off the entire thing only to drive home, get out and notice the sea of salt was replaced with a sea of yellow: pollen!

It is crazy to think that it is only 40 degrees back “home” but here it’s definitely pollen season. Pollen count is ‘high’ which is a little different than Michigan - or at least our last two homes in Michigan which were devoid of trees. I only really know about the summer allergies when the cottonwood “sheds” and the fall allergies (ragweed, I think) which affect us all. I don’t remember pollen like this.

When it rains, the streets are a sea of yellow swirly Easter-egg color, it’s weirdishly beautiful. I wish I was more on the ball with my camera, I could be taking some cool pictures.

Luckily none of us are the wiser. We aren’t allergic at all, which seems like a small miracle considering the allergies (Dalton has topical allergies, Teegan has environmental allergies and Addison has allergies of unknown origin). I think the only hint that there is anything odd, besides the color, is the color of Teegan’s eyes which will randomly glow red. A nice contrast to the yellow :-) But they aren’t even itchy, he’s oblivious.

So I guess it’s always something. If its not salt, it’s pollen. :-)
