Why you should always carry a camera

Dalton, my budding photographer, took the dogs for a walk tonight (he has some goal: get in shape. Isn’t that nuts?! haha) and it was getting dusky. Not dark but on its way.

While he was out, he saw some really cool car. Happens to be my favorite car, but this one had flames. which sounds like a Hot Wheels to me but he insists it was totally cool. Uh-huh.

Then he saw something that he believes was a parakeet. Green with a yellow beak. Hrmm.

Last but not least, he was walking back when a HUGE bird swooped down and past him and into a nearby tree. It was an owl who then promptly hooted at him. I’m insanely jealous because I’ve never seen an owl and it has long been a goal of mine (I mean, I’ve seen them in the zoo, in pictures, etc. But never in the ‘wild’). I think it’s safe to share that it freaked him the heck out. He jogged the rest of the way home. He thinks it was after his dogs (they are small toy dogs). One can only wish. Oops, did I say that out loud?! The dogs and I are not getting along.

Regardless, I think next time he’ll bring his camera.

Dalton’s walk sounds like that Dr. Suess book, “To Think That I Saw it On Mulberry Street”. That owl would have freaked me out too!
