We have this lake across the street and it is just gorgeous - fishing and quaint little cutouts for grilling and picnic tables. Dalton loves to go there and fish and has seen fish bigger than himself. Or so he says. He IS a Fisherman, right?

Well we have some big birds that also hang out in the lake and are apparently very friendly. It isn’t so much that they like people. It’s that they like fish and they have sent word within the bird community that where the people with the big long sticks hang out, so comes the easy dinner.

Dalton caught a fish the other day while this guy hung out by his side. When he went to throw it back (all our lakes are catch-and-release), the bird swooped up and caught it mid-air. So there ya go. Free dinner, no effort, only patience required.
