Presenting: Voices For Vietnam Adoption Integrity
I recently posted about my search for a higher purpose. I’ve been struggling with this for awhile now. I have felt such a calling to give back to Vietnam and involve myself, in some way, with adoptions in Vietnam. Aside from adopting again, which I would very much love to do, I wanted something I could do actively that would make a difference and be far-reaching. My husband suggested I start a blog devoted to Vietnam Adoption. His suggestion came at a time when I was totally overwhelmed with his new job, our new move, our house, etc. I knew I wouldn’t be able to do it justice. So I disregarded that idea and kept on looking.
A few weeks later, in the night (when all ideas are born, right?), it came to me. What I want most is to participate in a collaborative blog about Ethics in adoption. I love reading what others have to say on this topic, even when I don’t agree. This is important stuff. It needs to be discussed, openly. It needs to be out there in a forum that is easy to find and easy to keep up with. I want to see adoptions continue for a long long time in Vietnam. I want to see adoptions continue in an ethical way. I want to see parents making choices out of integrity. I wanted a blog written by parents, not agency personnel. I wanted a blog written by those without affiliations or preferences for one agency over another, without bias, and with past experience in adoption. I wanted a blog whose information is derived without financial or personal agenda.
Voices For Vietnam Adoption Integrity was born, thanks to the help and support of the two other contributing authors, Mrs. Broccoli Guy and LawMommy, two wise wise mamas who have been around the block and have a lot to say about a lot of important issues.

Excellent idea! I already sent the link to family because it explains to them much better than I have been able what the issues are. Looking forward to learning more!

Thank you, thank you, thank you. I love the new blog and I am excited to see it develop. I have fears of Vietnam shutting down again. But I’m hopeful that with help from active, vocal AP’s and PAP’s the program can continue in an ethical manner. So thank you Nicki, and many thanks to Christina and Gretchen, as well as all the parents who will contribute and pass on this much needed information.
