Today we went blueberry picking for the first time. First let me say that my kids just adore berry-picking. No matter how blazing hot it is outside and how completely desolate the berry patch is, they find personal challenge in this persuit.

We found this blueberry farm near us with organic berries. They’ve been around for 30 years and they have a few dozen varieties of blueberries so they have picking for months! They even allow you to eat the berries right off the bush. And they sell ‘em for $1.25/pound which is an amazing bargain around here.

We went last night, right before bed to avoid the heat. The timing was perfect, it dropped 10 degrees just during our short drive to the farm. On the way we had a mama pig and her half dozen tiny piglets cross the dirt road in front of us. I wish we had a picture! Noah slept right through it and it is all he’s talked about since. I’m not sure if they were farm pigs or wild pigs but my guess is they were wild. Pretty cool!
