The ‘Rents

Today my Dad finished is 1400 mile cross country bike trip. I wish more than anything I could have been there. Tony even checked out plane tickets for me but at $800+ for the round trip JUST for one ticket, um, sorry Dad! I’m so very proud of him. It sounds like the trip of his life. I’m so luck he let me blog it for him so I could feel like a tiny part of it.

Tonight my Mom is flying into town. It’ll be her first visit and the first time we’ve seen her since we left Michigan 3.5 months ago. The kids are soooo excited! We have all kinds of fun things planned but mostly plan to just hang out and catch up. Hopefully the weather will stay sunny for her visit. We’ve definitely entered the Rainy Season where the rains come in each evening for a brief, albeit torrential, visit. I actually really like the evening rains a lot so long as they just visit in the evening and for an hour or so.

I’ve been laid up sick with some weird stomach thing while simultaneously trying (and failing) to get ready for my Mom’s visit and Father’s Day for the last 3 days. I finally just gave up today and went to bed just in time to throw up and pass out. Fun. I’m finally going to just stop eating and give my gut a break and hope it isn’t a tumor because sometimes I’m paranoid like that.

Oh poor you!! Good thing your mom is coming - nothing like a mom when you’re not feeling well.

Hooray for your dad - that’s very impressive!!
