Tax Free Weekend

This weekend, here in Tejas, was the tax free weekend on all clothing and schoolish stuff. I tried to shop, I really did. I dragged my sick butt out all day looking at all my favorite stores but came away with almost nothing. What a huge bummer. I’m going to have to get creative this winter because there are no cute girl clothes out this season. All these years I’ve waited to dress a girl and now they yank the cute stuff?

The one upside of my day is that I found the best children’s boutique EVER! I could have easily thrown down a grand without even thinking and still not come close to finishing out the winter wardrobe for Addison. They had these cute shoes and also these that I’m in love with but these where the ones I realllllly wanted. Tony says if I ever come home with $150 shoes for Addison that he’s personally submitting my resume to Monster.com himself :-) Anyway, that was just the shoes.

The clothes almost killed me, they were so adorable. Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on how you look at it) there was SO MUCH PINK! Yuck. I can’t buy pink anymore. What little there was in other-than-pink colors was over $200+ per outfit. So no shopping for me.

So I’ll be spending my fall on Ebay, I guess, scouring for deals on cute but not pink clothes in preparation for winter.

What I did walk away with this weekend, thanks to better shopping in Dallas,  looks a little something like this:

New gymnastics leotard #1:

posing

New gymnastics leotard #2 (it’s actually black with dark blue sparkly roses - this one Addy picked out herself and was SUPER excited about):
Posing again - the other new Leo

New Jeans (Addy had NO idea what these long heavy things were or how to move in them!):
Checkin' out the new jeans

Then we spent the afternoon doing front rolls around the house and balancing and something resembling a bridge. I hope she has as much fun in class tomorrow as she does at home!
