A new tooth!
Just last night I spent some time consulting Dr. Google becuase my 16 month old girl has six teeth. She was a late teether - she got her first two teeth at 9 months old and she only had 4 teeth by her first birthday. She got another 2 a few months later. But nothing since then. I get a little paranoid, sometimes. Particularly, where were her molars?
I used to think the late teething was related to nutritional deficits early in life but most people I know who have adopted and experienced such a thing had kids who “caught up” as soon as healthy food was introduced. Not Addy.
After a thorough Google Search, I concluded that late teething is ok, maybe even beneficial since by some accounts, late teeth are healthier teeth. And probably, unless she was premature, it was likely genetic. And also, she’s maybe not such a later teether after all according to this chart from the ADA.
Last night she had The Night From Hell. It involved a lot of bottles, a lot of night waking and a very very sleep-deprived husband. And it also involved one brand new spankin’ bottom tooth today!
No, not a molar. But a new tooth non-the-less. Tooth Number 7, the lower left lateral incisor if you must know. Which, for the time being, means one less tooth I fantasize is missing or lodged permanently in her jaw bone, right? Because, there will always be the phobia.
So tell me, how many teeth does your adopted baby have (and age please) and when did they get their first molar?

Sarah has 8 teeth now….4 top…4 bottom. All are in varying states of coming in. I think she may be working on some molars next as her gums look pretty puffy. Sarah is 15 months.

Parker is just now getting the first bottom tooth at 8 months and 1 week old. I think one more might be on the way, too…but the first just broke through last week.

My girls have 6 each. Mia slower than Cams and Cammie was the smaller twin. We assume they were term, due to circumstances I won’t divuldge here but because they were pretty big for twins. (they were probably a few weeks early, who the hell knows)
BUT we are getting the lower left incisors now as well. And it hasn’t been fun. The drool. The drool. And fussy. Motrin is given alot. Cause since they aren’t fussy much now, I ACTUALLY know there is a reason.
But serious. Left incisor. Same pattern! I thought molar but it is close to their bottom middles and they have GIANT teeth. And I mean GIANT. HUGE. With points. And they know how to use them!

Our son’s drooling started at 3 mos, first tooth popped through at 5 months.
A couple of months ago, I thought we were finished w/ the molars, but I’ve been wondering the last 2 weeks an dhave been trying to peep back in as far as I can see into his mouth, so I can count teeth and consult a chart.
Thank heavens for our couldn’t-have-lived-without natural teething remedies - they beat the pants of that stupid Orajel!
Hyland’s Teething Tablets (got us through the molars!) and Camilia Teething Drops…….

Hope she sleeps better soon! Doesn’t sound like a lot of fun.

My two are still flashing very gummy grins despite their love of all food. They eat, they LOVE to eat. They eat dairy, LOVE veggies, eat what meat I can give them with not little teeth to grind it down, and grains are always in order. Ice cream…it’s ok. Cake…not bad, but green beans are better. Pudding, we prefer yogurt. Fruit, please give us bananas, melons, applesauce and whatever else is around. Yep, they are GREAT eaters, but still no teeth. Age: 13 mo and as Jenny had stated before we are fairly sure they were close to if not full term. I have to admit it’s nice as the biting hasn’t started yet, I do wish they would get a couple though so their food wouldn’t have to be cut as teeny-tiny!!!

Cameron has 8 teeth - 4 top and 4 bottom. Both bottom molars are working their way in now. One has partially broken skin the other is still a big lump under the skin. Poor guy.
Connor has 6 - 4 on the top, 2 on the bottom. It doesn’t look like any more are coming in anytime soon.
Both boys will be 15 months on the 3rd.

Caleb has 6 teeth. 2 on bottom, 4 on top. I think he is perpetually teething though. He was 15 months on the 27th, 1 month premature, so 14 months adjusted, although for everything else he seems to not have the “born early” issue….

Camille is 16 months, and she is from BaVi in Hanoi. She has 4 top and 4 bottom teeth, the last one just came in this week. She is also constantly chewing on anything she can shove into the back (molar) area of her mouth. My other daughter from PRC, came to us with 14 teeth at 15 months old back in 2005.
