Weekend In Review: Police, Pee, Snakes, Vodka & Sleep
I think that about sums it up. Need I say more?! Yes? Well, ok.
Friday we had a “Not Back To School” festival with our homeschool group at a local park. Would it surprise you to hear that the cops showed up? And it was me they were after?! Good times, good times.
Saturday was supposed to be “potty training day” but it turned into “I’m really lazy and don’t want to do anything” day. But we did go out and buy panties. Addy picked out Disney Fairies panties and they do fit well although they have that “saggy butt” look. She was really excited about them though.
Sunday we went to a large herpetology expo becuase we are totally wild on the weekends and nothing can hold us back. I bet you are all so jealous! We almost bought a monitor lizard, a spotted turtle, a milk snake, a bearded dragon, a bumblebee python, a pied & another turtle of unknown origin.
Then we hung out with my best friend D~ and her family for “Football Sunday” which might have involved football but definitely involved Vodka, good food, friends and fun.
Somewhere in between it all, Addy has used the potty a few more times on her own. Today I pretty much confirmed that she would be easily trained if we just stopped everything and did it. I kept her naked, watched her cues for a bit and caught her pre-pee easily. So maybe next Saturday
And last but definitely NOT least, Addy is sleeping AMAZING these last few nights. Far FAR superior to any other nights in her little life with us so far. Two nights ago she slept from 8:30pm - 4:50am before waking for a bottle and then went on to sleep in until 8:30am. Last night she woke at 1am for a bottle but slept until morning after that. This is totally amazing to us both. So amazing that, because I slept through her 1am bottle, I woke up at 6:50 to a totally quiet, asleep house and lay there confused and worried about what happened to my baby. Was her monitor off? Was she dead? Was she kidnapped? She couldn’t possibly be still sleeping. I eventually went back to sleep but slept restlessly until I heard her tiny playful voice a few hours later. She is also sleeping great for her naps but is moving them to the afternoons which is taking some getting used to. Today she didn’t nap until 2pm and I think that will likely become the norm. But she was SO easy to get to sleep which is a real treat because usually she hates it when I put her down and prefers Daddy. But by 2, she was definitely ready. Yay for easy, good, long, restful sleep!
I’m really looking forward to a nice, calm, relaxed week. This week my kids start their homeschool co-op but otherwise we aren’t doing a whole lot. Besides gymnastics 3 different days, soccer practice two nights and our first soccer game of the season this weekend. Oh wait -I guess that blows Potty Training Saturday.

What were the cops after you for? What did Dalton do?
I blame Dalton. Totally. Potty training Saturday would probably be a no-go whether or not you had plans. :P:P:P It would somehow turn into “Barbeque and potato chips saturday” or “constantly posting on your blog (;)) saturday”. Hopefully.:P

Oh, un-uh! You can’t just drop a line saying the cops were after you and leave us hanging like that! It simply doesn’t work that way. Sooooo, either ‘fess up or don’t tease us at all.
The potty training stuff sounds great and all, but I’m super excited about Addy sleeping so well. Gee, if I could just have a little sleeping consistency in this house, I’d be over the moon!!!!

Yes, I agree, more details on the cops!
Our neighbor had 2 pygmy rattlesnakes on their back porch yesterday–yikes!
Bluberry vodka and lemonade is a great combination!

Your homeschool parties sound a lot more interesting than ours :-)! And as far as the herps…the house rule is that you can’t have anything that eats mammals, so we pretty much stick with turtles and frogs.

Wow, the cops?! Just when I thought you couldn’t get any cooler!! I can’t believe Addy is potty training. And I can’t believe you can take her shopping and she’ll pick out here own panties - that kid knows what she wants!
