All this gymnastics is really paying off

This morning Addy surprised us (and probably herself) by doing her first “all by myself” front rolls. Of course she wasn’t dressed, the house was all Addy-trashed (which, by the way, it pretty much always is these days). Later when she looked cute and the house was cleaned up, she was totally disinterested. That’s always how it goes. I am actually kidding when I say gymnastics has paid off. She’s only gone twice and they haven’t done front rolls there at all yet.

She is also starting to do some real jumps now, a lot sooner than I expected. But she’s literally obsessed with jumping so I guess it was inevitable. Sometimes she can get both feet off the ground and she has totally mastered jumping with both while holding onto something. The funniest thing is that she has been watching closely lately so she can try to figure it out and now she knows there is an initial bend-of-the-knee involved so she now does this big exaggerated squat all the way down to the ground and then comes up for the jump. So cute!I’m not avoiding telling the police story, I swear! It isn’t nearly as exciting as I made it sound (of course) so I’ll let you hang in suspense (haha) for a bit longer and will blog about it later today.

I am really impressed!! I want Lucy in a real gymnastics class too, but I can’t find one here until she is 18 months. Whatever. We started Little Gym today, but I want more like what Addy is in.
