Right vs. Left Brained: Which are you?
According to the Herald Sun, which direction you see this dancer turning might signify whether you are a right-brained (creative) thinker or a left-brained (logical) thinker.
I looked at it and seriously I could not possibly have been more sure that there was only one right answer to this test. Clearly she is turning counter-clockwise. I called all three of my kids over and my two oldest kids both agreed it was *definitely* going clockwise. Noah said it kept changing directions!!!
I looked away for a minute and then when I looked back it changed directions. Seriously this is some sort of crazy to me!!!!!!
Apparently most people would see her turning counterclockwise, indicating that you are strongly left brained. If you see her turning clockwise, this indicates that you are right brained.
So which way do you see her spin? And if you see her change directions, does that mean that you are a “balanced” thinker?
I took this other test that was pretty interesting. It showed that I’m not all THAT balanced but pretty close to what I always felt I was:
| Left Brain | Right Brain |
| 61% | 39% |
Pretty cool! I wish I could say I was more creative but I’ve always been pretty hard on myself about my lack of creativity. I failed geometry, I can’t decorate to save my life and anything too abstract makes my head spin. But I can follow directions like my life depends on it and there is *always* a to-do list! But I do crave a creative outlet. I’m musically proficient and I love to “create” as long as there is clear directions with pictures!!

She changes directions. Without a doubt. I watched for a long time and she changed several times.

Okay, I just took the other test and I got the exact same results as you. Either freaky weird, or the test is not so accurate.

I’ll have Tony take it later. He looked at that dancing girl for like 10 straight minutes and could not get her to change direction at all! His results to the other test can’t possibly be the same (never mind that I am 100% positive that we do not think alike! haha). So if his turn up the same then I know the test is broken or inaccurate or something.

I’m with Noah and Kelly and you — it changed on me! At first it was definitely clockwise, and then definitely not. I’m off to take the other one; I’ll let you know if it’s the same results as you guys.

Left Brain Right Brain
34% 66%
It definitely changed on me. Totally awesome! I tried getting Ethan to look away and the dancer isn’t actually turning. He turned back and it changd for him but not for me.

Hmm - only clockwise for me, and I’ve looked away and back several times. And for the other test - how lame is this - 52%/48% left/right! I could kinda see that coming as I love math but love to read too (in college switched from being a math major to a history major), I had a feeling as I answered that I was bouncing all over. I’m so curious to see her go counter-clockwise though - plus, I sure don’t feel like I”m a predominantly creative person!

Okay, left brain 38% right brain 62%. she was definitely going clockwise for me, but if I concentrated on her legs only, I could get her to change directions for a split second, but then she would go right back to clockwise. Fun! Ha, ha–maybe that means if I concentrated harder, I could be more left brain and not so scatterbrained….

definetly counter clockwise, not changing at all, ever…

changed on me several times (most of the time it was clockwise)…I took the other test and it was
left 48% & right 52%. Cool

I think the right brain/left brain idea is kind of old, in terms of research, anymore… they’ve found so much compensation going on between brain hemispheres… but for what it’s worth, she was spinning clockwise for me and counterclockwise for Michael!

What is really interesting is that my engineer husband, who one would assume is the logical left-brained type, saw her spinning clockwise, while I, the art teacher, saw her spinning counterclockwise. Hmmm…. I had to concentrate very hard (to the point of making my head hurt=) to get her to change directions.

Clockwise, definitely and I could not get it to change.

She’s TOTALLY changed directions, but spends most of her time spinning clockwise!!!!! According to the other test, I’m 55% left brained, 45% right brained. Hmmm.

Ok, I just described this fun little exercise to Travis (aka: party pooper), and he proceeded to explain to me the neurologic basis for why we perceive what we do, yada yada. I just had to roll my eyes, pull him over to the computer, and say “lemme guess, she’s spinning counter clockwise, right?” He’s so damn predictable (and boring;) and logical.

I didn’t do the other test (and obviously I’m days behind on checking in here), but she was totally going clockwise for me. Then, as I scrolled down and could only see the bottom of the foot on the “ground” and its shadow, it seemed to change directions. So I scrolled back up and, sure enough, she was going counterclockwise. As long as I stared she didn’t change directions. So I looked back down at just her foot and the shadow, and she changed directions again. Each time I focus on the foot I can get her to change directions. Really weird, because otherwise I would swear she is just going clockwise. Anyway, did she need to have nipples?
