Stop The Presses

Today I woke up and walked out and my entire family cheered “Happy Half Birthday”. Noah said “Today you turn 52 and a half”. Ha. Hahahah. He’s still learning his numbers, he’s only off by 2 decades.

I honestly did not even know it was my half birthday because, you know, I’m a grown up and stuff.

We have a busy day. We are off to our last day of co-op - our big awards ceremony. And then we are going to see the Houston Rockets kick the butts of the SA Spurs. I am a HUGE basketball fan. I can’t freakin’ wait. I’ve suffered through football for what seems like 1204 months, mostly not gracefully, in anticipation of basketball season.

And we are about to walk out the door when my husband….my wonderful awesome amazing perfect husband…walked in with a card for me. I laughed, I opened, I read it. On top of all this awesome stuff about how proud he was of me in many different ways, it said to look in the kitchen. A giant giftbag awaited.

And guess what was inside the gift bag. GUESS! JUST GUESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I cried and cried and cried. Aside from my longer-overdue-wedding-band-set I finally got last month, this is the best gift anyone has ever given me in my entire life.

People who read my blog and absorb all the details will know.

Here’s a hint:

Nicki, you are so mean. I read you blog, I’m not good with details. Tell me, tell me, tell me, tell me, before I have a fit ;)

I am taking a guess about the present - a trip to New England to see the leaves??? I read your blog religioiusly and am still not sure about the gift at all. That is the best guess I have.

Happy 1/2 Birthday. I am sorry you are delusion about the Rockets beating the Spurs though. The Spurs ROCK!! Justin will be so dissapointed when I tell him you have turned into Rockets fans AND are cheering against his beloved Spurs.

Now, tell us about the gift.

I have no idea what the leaf means, but I am SO impressed that your husband not only got you a card and gift for a 1/2 birthday, but that he took the time to find such a beautiful leaf (and it obviously has some kind of meaning behind it). I may have to have my husband start reading your blog so he can take a few hints as to how it should be done….lol.

Is it Sinaeschnidia cancellosa? It looks something like a fossil or something(Ok it doesn’t, I found the name of a fossil somewhere on your blog and copied and pasted it)? OK, I at least took a completely crazy impossible guess. Now tell me what it is!

Both Kelly and Not Paige have really great guesses. I’m thinking it could be either one of those. Or maybe it’s just a gift bag full of fall leaves. Did he get someone to mail him a box full of leaves? That would be romantic in a simple and great way.

Oh you guys are so way far off!! It has nothing to do with the leaf itself. Some of you may not know but people like Kelly, Emily, Brandy should know instantly because its all I ever talk about :-)
