Countdown to Christmas

So I got this wild hair to start getting crafty (it’s just kids crafts I’m not crazy about - I like the adult versions!) With the Christmas countdown right around the corner, I decided on two projects.

I’m going to make these adorable little garland advent pouches that I found on this blog:

adventpockets1.jpg

I just love them, they are so charming to me. I bought the little chocolates to go inside, all we need is a whole lot of time to sew up 24 (or is it 25?) little tiny pockets. No problem, right?

And then, because I loved this one too, I decided to also tackle this cute advent garland from this blog:

Except I’m going to do the 12 Days of Christmas, instead. Inside each little stocking will be a holiday-themed family activity (you know - bake cookies, go ice skating, etc). I’m really excited about it!

Ok, please note I have not yet actually STARTED these two craft projects. Those pictures are from the original creators, not mine! But this is the push I need, right? Now I’m committed.

I’m soo excited about the holidays that I decided to do a little Blog Advent project, also inspired by the above blog!

So every day of Advent I am going to post one little family activity, craft, idea or tradition that might pique your interest and inspire you to stay cheery all season long.

I’m also going to try to post a new Christmas-themed picture every day as well. This will be hard but I’m going to give it a shot.

So there ya go! The big reveal. haha. Hopefully I will be more successful than I have been with NaBloPoMo! Hope you all enjoy it as much as I do.

Where on earth do you find the time? I don’t even have one kid yet, and I can’t find time for anything…you have four…

I’m so screwed when this kid gets here… :-)

Totally love those stockings! Also love your “family-themed” activity idea. Maybe someday I’ll get to use it for my own family. (grrr) But certainly not this year!

Oh too cute! I love your posting idea. I always have 20 different xmas projects - let’s see if I can add some more. ;)

And I love the family-themed activity in the stockings thing - I may just steal that for myself.

Those will be great crafts when they are done. I will be happy to just get the gifts I am making completed, and make our annual ornaments.
You have a enough Christmas Cheer for most of us who are still struggling with the concept that Thanksgiving is this week.
