Last minute crafts with kids
In the last few days we made some paper ornaments and 3D snowflakes. They all turned out really cute and I think the kids had fun doing them as well. If you have some paper, tape, glue, staples laying around, you have the stuff needed for these projects:
Project #1: Paper Ornaments

The full directions for making these are here. All you need is paper, scissors (or a 1.5″ circle punch) and some glue (we used a glue stick). That’s it!
Project #2: 3D Snowflakes

We had some Christmas-themed origami paper sitting around but I’d like to have the kids make a few more with plain white paper. The multi-colors are a bit throw-upish for my taste! haha. But I love how they turned out. They are HUGE. We hung a bunch from the ceiling in a corner.
You can get the full instructions for how to make these here. All you need is some paper (white!! haha), tape and staples along with scissors.
Project #3: another kind of modern paper ornament. We haven’t made these yet so no original pictures but this is what they will look like when we’re done:

Thanks for posting these. I think we’re going to try the 3-d snowflakes today. The kids were just complaining yesterday that we hadn’t made any snowflakes yet this year, and these look more fun than the traditional ones (my kids don’t get very creative witht the scissors and I wind up with a bunch of big, white, blobbly looking paper things that they want to hang EVERYWHERE).

Ooh, these are great. Thanks to you and your blog, I have a whole bunch of toys, activities, traditions, arts & crafts, and decorating ideas to choose from next year. My child is either going to love you or hate you for providing me with all this information. LOL.
Thanks, Nicki, and Merry Christmas to you and your family!

Did the snowflake and it was so easy and so fun. Any ideas where I can get some wintery two sided paper? All I had was vintage-osh shabby looking paper but it still looks great and the girls want to make a dozen more!
