It’s July!
- It’s July! That means we all made it through June, the longest month in the history of our un/self-employment. It was rough, painful and I whined sometimes. But now it’s over!! Whew! Tony’s working really hard and I am super-proud of him. July also means he got awarded the Microsoft MVP award for the third year in a row. Yay! Next week he will be gone the entire week at the Worldwide Partners Conference which is local-but-not. That means he’ll be home for sleep but otherwise won’t be here. I keep trying to talk myself into feeling relieved that he won’t really be out of town but honestly is there a difference if you only come home after everyone is asleep and leave first thing in the morning?
- It’s July in Houston which means it’s hotter than hell. Lately though I’ve found myself absolutely craving fresh air and the outdoors. CRAVING! Like I can not get out of here fast enough. We’ve been swimming daily and I’ve been finding any excuse to run errands just so I can get out and move. Maybe that means soon I’ll find the motivation to get up early and walk in the AM before it’s hot? I can’t recall ever feeling such a driving force to Get Outside Now. I’m driving my family a little crazy. But I don’t think I’m alone because Dalton has gone fishing two days in a row for most of the day and yesterday Teegan (who, you might recall, HATES fishing) went too. Maybe we are all in need of some fresh air!
- It’s July and yet my household is sick. Teegan, Addison, Noah & Tony all have colds. Blah. July should NEVER include colds. It just seems so wrong! So we are slamming the Vitamin C and hoping the fresh air is good for more than just my spirits!
- It’s July which means the new big aquatic center up the road that is included in our community pool passes is finally open. It is SO fun. It has a lazy river that I can just throw Addison in (with floaties) and away she floats! She just loves it! They also have a huge flume slide that the kids are having a blast plunging down on tubes. And of course the Giant Bucket that dumps like a billion gallons of water every few minutes. So if I’m missing in action, you know where to find me!
- It’s July which means this is a very special month here in our home. July is the month that Tony and I first met and the fourth of July has always been pretty sacred to us. This will be the 10th four of July that we’ve spent together! We feel especially blessed this year and plan to really enjoy our holiday with a full day of plans. I am SO excited to take Addy to her first parade and I just know she is going to LOVE seeing fireworks as much as last year!
- July is also special because July 6 is our referral anniversary. Two years ago we saw our baby girl’s face for the very first time. I will have a post of its own for that.
- It’s July and to celebrate all this goodness, I have decided to finish a few projects, get some more pictures up on the wall and up the ante in the photography department. I’ve started shooting entirely in RAW and I’m already addicted. I’m also looking for a good online class so if anyone has any pointers, point away! I’m taking a new photoshop tutorial every few days to sharpen my skills and hopefully I’ll find some opportunities to actually take some pictures this month too! haha. So to celebrate, let me ask you all a question about photos. Do you ever bother with my photoblog? It is better just to post the photos here? I’m thinking of just scrapping the separate blog.
HAPPY JULY EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have no idea what RAW is, but I would love it if you would scrap the other blog and post your pics here, I love your pics and would love to be able to “one stop shop” so to speak…
Happy July right back at ya!

Because you asked for my opinion (you know, mine specifically b/c it carries so much weight), post your photos here, please! I like it when they’re all in once place, and I have no problem with tons and tons of photos in addition to or in place of posts. No, not in place of posts. Keep posting. In addition to is good.
July sounds like a busy but very good month for you guys. Happy ten years of of knowing each other to you and Tony! And forget the kids, *I* want a pass to your aquatic center. That sounds like so much fun. I’m such a loser, but I LOVE water parks. There’s one just a few miles from our house (no free passes, though!) and I’m dying for Mattix to be old enough to go. So jealous. Oh, and about Tony being gone but not gone. The only positive I can think of is that if you get to see him - even if only for a few minutes - you won’t end up talking like a child like I do with NO adult interaction at night or in the morning. I find myself using my annoying mommy voice with everyone when Ed’s gone for long stretches. When the woman at the grocery store handed me change and I said, “THAAANNNKKK YOOOUUUUU!” in my mommy voice, I wanted to die. Sad, isnt’ it?! Although you have older kids, too, so you probably don’t have that problem. Sorry, then I’ve got nothin’ positive!

You know, I was dreading July because it meant that on the first, families officially could not submit dossiers to VN…I know I know, I won’t start!
I’m glad you’ve given me other reasons to think about July.

I love your photos. They are amazing and make me want to really learn about photography, not just keep using the point and shoot method my whole life.
So, I do love your photo blog. Really. It’s just that I sometimes forget to go there and look. I love it when you post reminders or give us a heads up that you’ve posted something special over there. When you do that, I ALWAYS go look, because I know I will see lovely things.
If I were you, I would probably maintain both sites. I like the orderliness of that. A thing for every blog and every thing in its (proper) blogplace and all that.

I like all of the pictures in one place too. I do go to your photoblog, but mostly do all of my commenting here. You know me, I am not scared to post 20 pictures on one post, so start putting up more pictures. I know nothing about RAW. Maybe you can teach me in August.

I actually don’t mind either way since both blogs are in my bloglines, but I do love the look of your photos against the look of your photoblog. I think they go well together. The photos just look more dynamic against the dark blog. But I think I’m the odd woman out.

I love your photos and will make a point to view them no matter where they are. I also do not know what RAW means. I’m glad I’m not the only one. Explanations are in order.

OK, confession…I always forget you have the photoblog. I’d love all the pictures to be here. Happy July to you!
