A Change’ll Do You Good

I’m feeling much better and I’m happy to report that things are on an even keel with my dear friend, as well. A great way to start a weekend if I do say so myself. Thank you for all the supportive comments, they really do help! A lot!

So I’ve decided that it’s time to change a few things about my life and so far I’m feeling really good about those changes.

I enrolled myself in an advanced DSLR photography course. It felt really weird to sign up for an *advanced* course since I consider myself such a novice but the beginning courses was for things like turning on your camera and transfering pictures to your computer. VERY basic. haha.  So in two weeks I’ll take my trusty camera and go learn in a real classroom (or hotel - whatever - let’s not get picky) and be photo-smarter. If I’m still grasping after that I might invest in the private in-home 2 hour tutor to come help me figure out how to take good shots in my highly challenging backyard.

I felt pretty danred good about myself after that. Isn’t it funny how you don’t quite realize just how badly you are feeling about yourself until you do something that makes you feel so much better!? So I bought myself some new makeup, scheduled that haircut I’ve been talking about for awhile now and will get this frizzed out mop chopped off next week. I have zero idea what to have done with it which is a little scary. But its only hair, right?

And then I took my two big kids and I hit the road. I wanted to be near my friend in case she needed me and I wanted to get the heck out of dodge. I swear, maybe it makes me a bad person but every mile I drove away made me feel a little lighter, a little more cheery and a little more free. So now we’re here in Austin and we have no idea what we’ll do and THAT is my idea of FUN right about now.  I’ve got my camera and the low maintenance half of my family. I think I’m set! It may be tough to go home after this. haha.

But I have cute baby butts and haircuts and photography classes waiting for me, right? I’ll see ya on the flip side, with pictures! A change really does do you good.

Awww how I wish I could do a road trip. I’m hopefully taking one in a couple weeks to Indianapolis with Jesse. Just for the weekend. Can’t wait for your update and new pictures. Miss you guys.

Yay for road trips! That always makes me feel better too. I’ll be very interested in your thoughts on the photography classes. There is a nearby tech college that offers photography lessons and I thought it might be fun, even though I’m so not a good photographer. (I guess that’s why I might need lessons, huh?) Can’t wait to see the new hair…and have fun in Austin!!

Change can be therapeutic! And, did you update your blog design as well? Has it been that long since I’ve been by? Sorry!! Love the design btw! Keep us updated with your photog classes! I’ve wanted to take one too but, same deal here, the beginner classes are too beginner and the advanced class require that you take the beginner ones first. Well, maybe there are exceptions but I’m too lazy to find out. hehe. Anyhow, hope your friend is doing better and have fun with all your new changes!

Oh, the idea of a roadtrip with the low maintenance part of my family (which would = me, alone) sounds heavenly! I’m looking forward to seeing the new haicut, too…in your lighter state of mind, I’m sure whatever you end up with, you’ll love!
