Medication Reference Sheet

One helpful thing you can do when you prepare to travel to adopt your new son or daughter is to print off a handy reference sheet for medication dosing. Because institutionalized children tend to be smaller and weigh less and medication dosing is based on weight, often times the dosing information on the bottle will be misleading or not available at all. This is especially true for infants.

Tylenol: 7 mg per pound every 4 hours; 1 tsp (5ml) of children’s liquid and two droppers (1.6ml) of infant drops both contain 160 mg of acetaminophen - if you run out of one form, the other can be substituted.
