Hold On, You Might Fall Down
Saturday, October 18th, 2008I give up. I’m throwing my camera out the window. My days of taking pictures I actually like are OVER!
We had beautiful weather today (beautiful: it wasn’t raining, it was under 90 degrees). We hit the yard for some playtime. I thought Yay - I can take some pics! I had picked out this crazy outfit for Addy today that was so super cute with knee socks and cute shoes but by the time we made our way outside, the knee socks turned into mittens and the shoes were long gone. She insisted on this helmet and no, she was not interested in riding her bike. She just loves this helmet. A lot. She will wear it for hours and hours. You’d think it would be super heavy, sweaty, uncomfortable. Needless to say my cute picture-taking opportunity was lost.
Still I asked the kids to pose and smile and this is what I got. They both insisted they WERE smiling and Addy REFUSED to take off the helmet…..
On a sweet note they do love posing together. Noah always holds Addy’s hand for pictures
And here we have a picture I like to call “Hold on tight, you might fall down…but at least you’re wearing head protection”….
So this ends my ability to take pictures of cute kids in cute clothes with nice smiles.
To compensate for the end of one hobby, I’m picking up another. Or returning to another, I should say. It’s Crafting Season. I agreed to make and swap these adorable little ornaments with my friend Jane and thought this might be just the thing I need to get back into the crafting swing of things.
I’ve been doing great with the digital scrapbooking. By the end of this year I hope to have a 2008 album for each kid, an album of our holidays and vacations and an album of my photography. I’ve already picked out all the photos I want to scrapbook. So far I have done 50 pages of Addison and I think I am done adding pages and just need to finish off a few and then I’ll be moving on to the next kid, alphabetically. I don’t even want to think about how much it will cost to print off so many 12×12 pages! It will be so nice to have this year done. Then I can go back and do maybe one year a month until I’m all caught up.
And last but certainly not least, I ordered this pattern today. I’m really excited to get it. I can not WAIT to sew a few of these dresses for Addy. The hard part will be choosing fabrics. We have essentially no good fabric resources locally so I’ll probably have to buy online which I’ve never done before. Have I ever mentioned I HATE buying online? I will drive to the ends of the earth to avoid it. There is just something about being able to see and touch and compare things in real life that you don’t get online. Anyway, maybe I’ll even take out the still-new-in-box yet-untouched totally intimidating serger and give it a whirl!!! Which is your favorite style of the 4? I’m thinking of starting with Style A but I really love the Knot Dress.
So what fun things are going on in your neck of the woods this time of year?
